TAYFUR: THE NEW LAW FOR THE CURRENT ELECTIONS AS A LARGE DISADVANTAGE FOR THE KURDS
BAGHDAD (Independent) .. A statement from Tayfur’s office said the French ambassador expressed his country’s concern about what is happening from the escalation of violence and murder that affect innocent civilians every day in various parts of Iraq and consider it a negative indicator, especially with the failure to reach a political agreement between the partners on the election law.
For his part, Deputy Speaker of Parliament to the importance of the stability of the security situation in Iraq because of the continued terrorist operations after more than ten years, will certainly affect the political process, adding that the House of Representativesand seeks always work for the stability of the country.
He explained that the Kurdistan Alliance believes that the new election law in its current form in which injustice and unfairness large for the Kurds in comparison with other provinces in terms of the number of votes and seats, demanding the French at the same time as an important country to provide support and advice to the lists and entities in order to reach a solution that satisfies all parties.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed on the necessity of continuing the meetings and dialogues on the electoral law to circumvent the differences between national forces and parties and the holding of elections as scheduled. (End)
