Iraq is Ready for Third Round of Negotiations to Join WTO

Iraqi Dinar 123 News:– National Commission is preparing work for participating in the contest for third round in order to in order to induct Iraq into the World Trade Organizations. The Chairman of the Commission and Minister of Commerce Committee Muhammad Abdul Karim said that a regular meeting held in the Ministry of Commerce office in order to finalize the expected questions by the WTO, and discussed on several related issues especially the steps taken by the Iraqi ministries and agencies to satisfy the World Trade Organization. We also discussed about steps taken by the Iraqi government for modification in the investment law and to implement it. This new modified law should be compatible with the work laws of WTO.

He further explained that we discussed the most relevant topics in this meeting and focused to forward a presentation of Commission’s work and procedures adopted by the Iraqi government for induction in WTO and present a file of updated goods by the Memorandum of Foreign Trade Regime for Iraq and confirmation for implementation and making new laws for the country. On the other hand Ministry of Commerce issued a new file of dues for 2014-15, for farmers and marketers to produce and collect wheat in all Iraqi provinces. He added that we have issued second installment of dues for farmers to produce more wheat for the country. He said that we have authorized the General Company for Grain Trade to implement financial and administrative actions and to form sub-committees to achieve this major target in giving financial benefits to farmers.
