Increasing Duty-Free-Shops in Free Market Zone at Iraqi International Airports

On Sunday, the Iraqi Transport Minister Baqar Al Zubaidi stressed the importance of development in free markets should work according to the assessment of Iraqi International Airports. He also pointed out the free market in the halls of Baghdad International Airport. The Minister Baqar Al Zubaidi and the Managing Director for free markets in Iraq Ahmed Kamal further added in a statement that we discussed about the steps taken by the company in order to increase the numbers of duty-free-shops at Sulaymaniyah and Basra airports in Free Zones. It is also said in Zubaidi’s statement that we need to improve the functionalities of free markets at Iraqi airports but all should be according to the international standards. Free markets should offer quality products of International brands for the Iraqi and foreign passengers who visit Iraqi airports.

He further added that there are four free market halls in Baghdad International airport that are contributing to manage the facilities on the airport. Zubaidi also said that our passenger traffic has been reached at more than one million in the last six months. It is also reflecting on gaining the passenger’s attraction because their satisfaction on Free Zone System. There should be better relationships between the company and airlines to encourage the passengers about free markets at the time of travelling in the air. It is also briefed to the Transport Minister that the company is improving its work and increasing the number of goods to display the International brands.
